Great post. Reports from Chinese-born people living in China is much more believable than “armchair analysts” writing from outside China.

Thank you. That is a fascinating article. Just a small view of the incredible socio-economic shift we are in.

A great piece!

Visiting YongKong, a tier 4 or 5 city, Zhejiang, last year, noticing many young people from Guizhou, guessing that opportunities in Zhejiang are still far better than in Guizhou.

Thank you for sharing this, equal parts fascinating and sobering. What’s most jarring to me is how most of these problems are the results of largely unfettered capitalism (with Chinese characteristics, maybe?)

Emerging technologies will not bring prosperity to these hundreds of millions of people. The problem in the United States is similar. The historical time of profit-driven economies draws to an end. (The Hollow Colossus)

really enjoyed reading it. it really shows how imbalanced the development is and who really benefits from the growth and policy.
