I’m not sure it is true the US is not “acquisitive”. In fact the US since its founding expanded from an East North American colony to the West and South, taking lands from indigenous Americans, Mexico and overthrowing the Hawaiian government. And then via the Monroe doctrine and using the Organisation of American States as an instrument, gaining effective control over most of Latin America, the acquiring outright control of Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay, the Panama Canal and effectively taking over Britain’s hegemonic position as the global financial centre. Elon Musk is just too parochial to see the unpleasant side of America, as is the case with many Western and non-Western elites who profit from US hegemony.

Dear Shangun Yang, Jia Yuxuan and Zichen Wang,

Your post is insightful, sophisticated and profound, delivered in plain English. One cannot but agree with the clear points you make except perhaps for the likening of the American outlook to "Anglo Saxon Pirates". There are many of us in the "West" who may draw on Anglo Saxon cultural origins in one way or another but do not see ourselves as sharing the same ideological position of the average American (whatever that may be). As a New Zealander this is critical for China to understand! We are not all the same either. I thank you for the insights into Musk's visit and pronouncements.
